People love taking vacations. They are exciting and there are so many different things to do or go see like swimming in the ocean, spending time with family and sitting by a bonfire, or looking at National Sites. Whatever you do or wherever you go you are guaranteed to have at least a little fun. Students here at KHS have been on many different vacations whether they were here in Michigan, in a different state, or in a different country. 

Freshman, Landin Struck-Curtis mentioned his favorite trip he has taken was when he went to Daytona Beach in Florida over spring break. While he and his family were there they did many things, but he really enjoyed going into the ocean. Struck-Curtis commented it was his favorite trip because “We didn’t have a tight schedule.” Daytona Beach is a very common vacation spot, but it is for a very good reason. Everyone always has fun and they get to spend time with family and friends. 

Sophomore, Miranda Russell went out of the country. When she was asked what has been her favorite trip she has ever taken, she stated “My favorite trip was when I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and Mexico.” She ate different foods, swam in the pool, and spent time with her family. People love going on cruises and if you asked someone who has been on one if they would go again they would probably say yes. There are many different things to do and see. Russell mentioned it was her favorite trip because she got to go somewhere she has never been before. 

Junior, Taylor Douglas shared that her favorite trip has been going to Traverse City with her family, family friends, and her friend over the Fourth of July week. She went camping so she swam, had bonfires, watched fireworks, and played cornhole. Many people go on trips over the Fourth of July. It is a fun way to spend time with family and friends over the holiday. Douglas stated it was her favorite trip because “It was a fun campground and all my family was there.” 

There are so many different places people can go to take vacations and so many different things to do while they are there and these students shared a few of their favorite places and some of their favorite things they did. On these trips they spent time with family and friends, went swimming, and played games. Vacations are a fun and great way to relax and spend time with your loved ones.
