In the hallways of Kearsley High school, you will always see multiple dynamic duos. We have multiple sets of twins. In the senior class, one of the sets of twins are Jaylean and Jayla Lee. In the junior class, one of the sets of twins are Adriana and Addyson Merrow. In the sophomore class, one of the sets of twins are Brennan and Dylan Riddle. Lastly in the freshman class, one of the sets of twins are Kris’jhon and Kris’Shon Hines. Although twins are known to be very similar, they also have things that differentiate them. Each set of twins were asked these following questions: “Do you feel like you have a special bond or understanding beyond normal siblings?” “What’s it like having a twin?” “What’s the best and worst thing about being a twin?” “How far apart you guys?” and “Do you guys have different personalities?”

Kris’jhon and Kris’Shon Hines are one set of the freshman twins. They are one minute apart and Jhon is the older one. Interviewers asked both of the twins if they feel as though they have a special bond beyond normal siblings. Jhon responded, “Yes, we are really close with each other and sometimes we end up saying the same thing.” Shon replied, “Yes, we are very close and we get along very well because we can relate to each other so much.” From the outside looking in people could say they have similar personalities. But they think differently. Jhon says, “We definitely do have different personalities, but we understand each other very well.”  Jhon and Shon have an unbreakable bond.

Brennan and Dylan Riddle are one set of the sophomore twins. They are three minutes apart, with Brennan being the older one. Interviewers asked both of the twins what is it like to have a twin. Dylan responded, “We always have the same interests and like the same things.” Brennan said, “Its nice because I can blame him for things.” Although twins have similarities, they have their own personalities. Brennan feels as though Dylan has more friends than he does. Dylan and Brennan are like built-in best friends.

Addyson and Adriana Merrow are one set of the junior twins. Adriana and Addyson do a lot of things together. One thing they both have in common is dance. This year they both did dance on the Kearsley K-Motion team. These twins are 6 minutes apart and Addyson is the older one. When interviewers asked what is the best and worst thing about being a twin, Adriana said, “The best thing about being a twin is having someone who randomly knows everything like your feelings and the worst thing is probably sharing everything just because we share the same dna.​​” Addyson feels sort of the same way as Adriana. They both can connect on their feelings. But Addyson thinks the worst part about being a twin is when people ask which one is which. When you see Adriana and Addyson in school, you can see they have a really close bond with each other, an everlasting bond.

Now lastly, we have one set of  senior twins, Jayla and Jaylean Lee. They are 21 minutes apart, with Jayla being the older one. Just like the other twins, Jayla and Jaylean have a special bond with each other. They are closer with each other than their other siblings. Jaylean feels as though he is way nicer than Jayla. When Jayla was asked what she thinks is the best and worst part of being a twin, she responded, “The best part is having a built in best friend, but the worst part growing up was probably sharing birthdays. But now I don’t mind.”

The twins at Kearsley High School show how strong and unique the bond can be between them. Whether its sharing inside jokes, birthday parties, or just always having each others back, being a twin can come with both fun and frustration. One thing is clear, these twins wouldn’t trade their bonds for anything. They show that sometimes the best friendships are the ones that you are born into.
