The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint isn’t just a place to hang out, its a non profit organization dedicated to creating bigger and brighter futures. This is a place where youth have the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed. They offer fun programs and activities that help build important life skills, whether you’re into sports, learning new things, or exploring future career paths.

One of the best parts of the club is the wide range of programs available. If you’re into music or creative arts, you can join BangTown Productions, a studio space where you can learn songwriting, music production, and photography. It’s a great opportunity for anyone interested in exploring their creative side. Whether you’re an artist, musician, or photographer, BangTown Productions allows you to develop your skills and express yourself.

The club also offers other exciting programs, like karate classes, where kids can build confidence, learn self-defense, and stay active. Through a partnership with ELGA, the club provides financial literacy workshops that teach members how to manage their money, budget, and save for the future. For sports lovers, the club hosts basketball scrimmages where members can improve their skills and gain new connections.

Thanks to a partnership with Planet Fitness, the Boys & Girls Club has a Planet Fitness room where members can stay in shape year-round. With conditioning sessions available, athletes can stay fit and healthy throughout the year, ready for any sport or physical activity they want to pursue.

The Boys & Girls Club also offers Teens Next Door, a career readiness program that helps teens prepare for their futures, whether they’re looking to attend college, learn a trade, or go straight into the workforce. This program equips teens with the resources and skills they need to succeed in the next phase of their lives.

Beyond all the learning and fun, the club organizes field trips to places like Sky Zone for some trampoline fun or overnight college visits to help members start thinking about their futures.

Personally, one of my favorite things about the Boys & Girls Club is the bonds I have built between the members and staff. Members and fellow junior staff often feel like siblings. We spend so much time together, supporting each other through challenges and celebrating victories. These relationships go beyond just the time spent at the club, they’re real-life connections that last outside of it. Whether it’s attending a sporting event, cheering each other on at graduation, or showing up for each other during tough times, the support is always undeniable. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint offers a foundation of support that can last a lifetime. This is my safe space, and I encourage everyone to have a boys and girls club for themselves.
