Spring break is a highly anticipated time for students and families to get out and spend time together. This annual vacation typically falls in March or April depending on the school calendar. People go to a variety of places and different activities due to their budget and interests.
One of the most popular ways high school students spend their spring break is by traveling to different places around the United States. Typically high school students go on vacations with their families. Some go on sunny beach destinations or take a road trip with friends to a nearby city. Destinations like Florida, Tennessee, and even international spots like Mexico are common choices. These trips often include activities such as swimming and sightseeing, giving students a taste of adventure and relaxation.
Senior, Alyssa Briggs states, “ I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas, senior year has been stressing me out, so I am going to relax by the beach, and do fun activities such as swim, shop, watch shows, and sing karaoke.”
For the students who prefer to stay closer to home, Spring Break can still be filled with activities. Many high schoolers take advantages of different opportunities or even catch up on different hobbies or even try new hobbies. Some things they might learn are how to play an instrument, getting involved in their community, or even starting a new fitness routine. There are also local events that students also can go to, they have concerts, festivals and even sports games.
Senior, Nataile Devine, is staying home. She said, “I think I’m going to run over spring break to train for track. It is something I really enjoy doing and I am excited for this track season.”
Some students even take this opportunity to prepare for their future. Students can go and visit colleges to see which one fits them best. Students also can take this time to work on scholarships from colleges. Others will take this time and look for a job, or work all week to save money. Relaxation and productive activities can help students return to school feeling both refreshed and accomplished.
