Each year around Christmas time everyone gets in the spirit with Christmas festivities. Everyone has their own festivities whether they share them with their family or on their own.
Junior, Natalie Devine, enjoys Christmas festivities with her family. “Normally me and my siblings have a gingerbread house contest,” commented Devine. She may enjoy building gingerbread houses, but she enjoys another activity better. “We buy stockings and decorate them each year,” she continued.
Some people travel around Christmas time to visit family they don’t see often. Some go across the country while others stay here at home. Either way they enjoy Christmas time with their loved ones.
Sophomore, Payton Heystek, likes to visit her family most of all during the Christmas season. “Going to my step-dad’s house and eating Christmas dinner. I like it because I get to hangout with my family, “she replied. While spending time with her family she likes to watch movies. “We watch the Polar Express while setting up the tree,” mentioned Heystek.
Most people reuse a fake Christmas tree every year, while others prefer to cut down a tree each year. But to most, it’s not just cutting down a tree, but a family bonding experience.
Senior, Peyton Pierce, likes to spend time with his family during the holidays. He said, “going to a tree farm and cutting down a Christmas tree,” is one of his best memories. He wants to continue his family festivities, and add some of his own when he has his own family. He continued, “in the future I want to be able to go and cut down our own Christmas tree with my future family.” Most people like to celebrate Christmas with their own family festivities. Whether they are trying out new festivities or continuing past festivities.
