Senior, Blake McKerchie won the shot put events for the team, which gave Kearsley the advantage in points early on.

After the field events started, the relays and individual races was where Kearsley showed their true colors, winning a lot of the individuals and only losing a couple relays to Linden.

Sophomore, Jack Lillywhite got 2nd in the 1600m and won the 800m races.

Lillywhite talks about the team and a little bit of what happened at the meet.

“We did really well with the individual races for the boys. The girls had a little difficulty due to Lindens girls’ team, but other than that we dominated and I only lost a couple relays,” stated Lilywhite.

Other racers such as Jaylen Greene won the 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m relay, and the 4 x 200m relay.

Sophomore, Lucas Groulx won the high jump and the long jump events, getting over a foot above every other competitor.

Coach Adas wanted to talk about what his goals are for the next meet.

“I want to practice as much as possible and get the runners prepared to go against Holly because they will be a tough school to beat,” stated Adas.

The girls’ team also ran well, but sadly were beaten in a lot of their events due to racers from Holly and from their Fenton competitors.

Amelia Sporman, Liliana Garza, and Emma Fessler were the main team for the 4 x 800m relay and got second place in the race.

Junior, Ava Boggs talks about her race in the 400m.

“I didn’t think I was going to win because me and the Holly girl were side by side, but I’m happy I was able to push through and come out as the winner,” said Boggs.
