On March 7th, students with a GPA of a 3.0 or higher were invited to attend an award ceremony to celebrate their hard work.

Some students were also rewarded class related certificates such as the Political Science award and Chemistry award.

The freshman and sophomore ceremony was at 6:00 p.m., and the junior and senior ceremony was at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Wiskur handed out the awards and Senior Nicholas MacDonald received an award that night and described how it felt to make the honor roll.

“[I felt] honored and very proud of myself to see all my hard-work paid off,” said MacDonald.

Sophomore Vicky Burcar also received an award for making the honor roll.

Unfortunately, they could not attend the ceremony but still appreciated being noticed for their work.

“I was actually really shocked, sometimes I think I’m a bad student, but this really motivated me to work harder to keep my GPA,” stated Burcar.

Some students were happy they received an award, but wish they worked harder.

Sophomore Taylor Thompson was one of them.

“I got the honors award and letter, I was stoked for an award but disappointed I didn’t get the department award I wanted,” stated Thompson.

Hopefully we see more great things from students in the future!
