Kearsley takes the victory over the Holly Broncos
On Wednesday, September 14, the Hornets took on Holly here on our own pitch.
Junior Caden Saxton kicked off the game with a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute.
The Broncos unfortunately got that goal back by the end of the first half.
The Hornets defense was working to keep the game tied while the offense was trying to get past the Broncos defense.
There were many opportunities to break the tie, however, the offense fell flat.
Both teams were fighting back and forth to get the goal!
Saxton gets the ball and starts to take it down the pitch in the 8th minute.
While he is getting closer and closer to the net, the crowd starts getting loud.
He kicks the ball in the lower left corner of the net and it is just too low for the opposing keeper to get an arm on it.
The crowd goes wild, everyone is proud of the boys at this moment.
Saxton had to try and stay focused to get this important goal to gain the lead.
“My adrenaline was high and I was nervous, it was the last few minutes of the game,” Saxton says.
The game is not over yet, everyone is tense and believing the boys can keep the hard work up.
The boys continued to fight hard and kept the score at 2-1, beating the Holly Broncos.
