NHS reschedules Kids Against Hunger event
Due to a snow day on the original scheduled day of Feb. 13, the National Honor Society had to reschedule its Kids Against Hunger event to May 8.
At the event, NHS members will package 10,000 bags of nutrient-rich foods in order to be shipped to developing countries.
In order to host this type of event, NHS had to pay for all of the supplies needed to package the food. This included the food itself, bags, and boxes. The cost of it all was $2,800.
This event is mandatory for all NHS members to attend, and will begin at 2:30, ending when everything gets packaged.
However, service hours will be offered for the volunteers.
Senior Kennedy Krist, NHS member, likes the project.
“I think it is a good thing,” Krist said. “It supports a good cause.”
