What’s your biggest takeaway from this school year?
With the school year coming to an end and summer right around the corner, it’s a good time to reflect on the past year.
With reflecting comes many questions, like what has been your biggest takeaway this school year or what is something you’ll take with you next school year and in years to come?
I went around KHS and asked students that exact question. The responses I got were honestly a teaching moment for me and I learned a lot.
“This school year has taught me a lot. I’ve learned that school is not a joke and you should care about your grades, also you can still have fun while maintaining your GPA. I’ve met some of the best people this year and I’m so excited to see what next year has in store,” said sophomore Celestina Ascencio.
Freshman Lula White believes making friends and putting yourself out there is the key to success.
“This year would not have been as fun if I didn’t put myself out there because in all honesty, my friends are what makes waking up every day easier,” stated White.
Junior Raul Carranza is taking a lot away from this school year.
“This year wasn’t the best, but I plan on making my last year of high school the best yet,” stated Carranza.
Sophomore Gabby Chapman feels the biggest lesson she learned from this year was that people come and go for the best.
“I’ve lost a lot of close people, but I’m glad I did because if that wouldn’t have happened I wouldn’t have met the people I did.”
With every school year comes growth and you can’t have growth without change. I think we can all agree that this past school year was a learning year for all of Kearsley.
