Asking a date to prom can be creative, meaningful

As May draws closer, the panic for prom begins.

Girls do more than just spend every waking moment desperately searching for the perfect dress; they also find shoes to match, along with spending countless hours looking at hairstyles and nail designs that will outshine everyone else.

However, this surely is not all that girls are concerned about.

Many girls dream about two things in life: their weddings and how they will be asked to prom.

This is the most challenging aspect of the prom experience for guys.

There are many ways to ask a girl to prom that will make her more than happy.

1. Centering the “Big Question” around a sport or activity that she participates in.

This could be done with something as simple as a poster or writing on her car window (if she has one). For example, if she is a soccer player you could ask her to “kick it with you” at prom. If she plays basketball you could ask her to “take a shot” and go to prom with you.

2. Find something she is passionate about and use that to your advantage.

A girl is much more likely to say yes if it is apparent that you made an effort to ask her.

3. Ask with food.

Mmm, pizza. “I know this is cheesy, but will you go to prom with me?” Food is essential to life. So why not use it to your advantage?

4. Be creative.

Blow up balloons all over her room and tie a note to one saying it will blow you away if she goes to prom with you. Or get her a goldfish and use window markers to write on the fish bowl, “Out of all of the fish in sea, will you go to prom with me?”

5. Just flat out ask her.

This can be the most uncreative way to ask, but sometimes it is the most meaningful. Asking in a plain way is better than not asking at all.

Prom is an important experience of any person’s time in high school. Everyone dreams of the perfect night, starting with the perfect date. Make an effort and ask someone you know you could have a fun time with.
