Kearsley track and field lost against Swartz Creek

The Hornets went against Swartz Creek at home.

It was a cold and rainy day on Tuesday, April 26 when the Hornets track and field team went against Swartz Creek.

For field events, senior Lydia Boggs took second place in the long jump with a jump of 12 foot 6 inches.

Senior Brendan Schanick took second place in shot put with a throw of 47 feet and 5.25 inches.

Senior Tyler Csintyan got first place in high jump with a jump of 5 foot 8 inches.

Then rounding out field events freshmen Lucas Groulx took second in long jump with a jump of 18 feet and 4 inches.

For running events taking first in the 4 by 800 relay was freshmen Ariana Hudkins, Elizabeth Soper, Isabelle Pringle and Faith Hittle.

Taking first in the 4 by 400 relay was Lydia, freshmen Claire Carley, freshman Emma Fessler and sophomore Ava Boggs.

Taking first in the 4 by 200 relay was Lydia, Carley, Fessler and sophomore Abby Willingham. This group also took second in the 4 by 100 relay.

Taking second in 300 meter hurdles was Hudkins.

Taking second in 100 meter hurdles was sophomore Bre’Azia Lee.

Ava took first place in 3200 meters, 1600 meters and in the 400 meters.

Carley took second behind Ava in 400 meters.

The hornets took first and second in the 200 meters, taking first was Fessler and taking second was Willingham.

Taking first in the 400 meter dash was freshman Cameron Welch.

Groulx got second place in 300 meter hurdles.

In the 4 by 100 relay senior Aiden Kuta, senior Terrance Thompson, freshman Cody Laury and Groulx took second.

Taking second in the 4 by 200 relay was Kuta, freshman JJ Brown, Terrance Thompson and Welch.

The hornets then look second in the 4 by 800 relay with freshman Ethan Sellers, sophomore Alex Lillywhite, Thomas Gustafson and Jack Lillywhite.
