XFL, NFL to collaborate to better player safety and wellness
Dwayne Johnson and the NFL have announced on Monday, February 21, that they would start collaborating with the NFL on innovation programs to expand football and work on play safety.
For the longest time, health and player safety have been on the mind of many fans and players alike, we have seen many great players have to retire too early in their career simply because the NFL doesn’t know how to deal with injuries.
The leagues said in an announcement, with the XFL working with the NFL on forward thinking physical and mental fitness programs for players, the study of playing surfaces and equipment and the sharing of game trends and data.
“I am excited, I am motivated and man, this one is humbling,” Johnson said in a post on social media. “I am so honored to be able to share this very big announcement with you guys that the XFL is officially collaborating with the NFL, the National Football League. The whole idea of the XFL-NFL collaboration is to grow the game of football.”
Throughout the collaboration we are sought to see many different initiatives going on. The XFL will be implementing new rules the NFL would try out to make the game more enjoyable for the fans and the players.
The XFL is now in their third life, but with some bright hope in their future partnering with the NFL hopefully the phrase stays true and third time is the charm.
