In life, people develop passions that stick with them forever. They become their source of happiness and drive. It is what makes them, them.

For senior Jack Sterling, his many passions have shaped him into the person he is today.

Sterling is a scholarly student, who has a niche for mathematics.

He constantly impresses with his ability to catch on fast to math and plans to pursue a career in a STEM field.

“I plan on going to Kettering University and majoring in mechanical engineering.” said Sterling.

Sterling is eager to start his college education for his future job.

“I enjoy doing math, which is important for the job.” said Sterling. “Also I find the idea of creating and designing something interesting.”

Sterling also enjoys being part of the band program, where he has been playing trumpet for over seven years.

Through the program, he has been able to create long-lasting relationships with other band members.

“Being in the program for so long has allowed me to make some of my closest friends.” said Sterling.

Sterling has been able to experience lasting memories within the program.

His favorite memory by far was when the band competed at Universal Studios in Florida against bands from around the U.S.

“Playing in a different environment other than the auditorium at school was really fun,” said Sterling, “and getting to hang out with my friends at the park after.”

Sterling doesn’t have any set plans for music outside of school, but would like to retain a relationship to it.

“I might join a community band just to keep playing.” said Sterling.

Sterling isn’t just all academics and music.

He is also an avid content creator for YouTube.

Sterling started creating content about two years ago, on April 5, 2019, on a channel called “Napkin Review”

On this channel, Sterling reviews napkins from Buffalo Wild Wings to McDonalds.

Sterling is joined by his friends seniors Cuyler Yager, Kailer Young, Sam Kelsey, Conan Prevo, and Caden Palmer, who all contribute to the channel.

Overtime, new content was added to the channel. Now not only were napkins being reviewed, by cups, spoons, plates, and food were also being reviewed.

Kelsey is known for doing cup reviews, Prevo is in charge of spoon reviews, Young is responsible for plate reviews, and Palmer has newly started doing food reviews.

The channel currently has 233 subscribers and the number grows every new post.

Sterling enjoys the process of creating videos for the public to see.

“I enjoy working with my friends to come up with and make the videos.” said Sterling.

Sterling’s friends are very important to his life, who help him follow his passions.

His friends can always look to him for help with problems.

Yager knowns he can go to Sterling for a laugh or just someone to hangout with.

“Jack is a reliable friend who is also extremely smart.” said Yager. “He’s funny and someone I enjoy being around.”

Sterling is a man of many talents, who strives to follow his passions, even in the midst of a busy high school career.

Sterling will continue to impress those around him all his life and showing the world just what Jack Sterling can do.
