The Hornets suffer a loss from Linden

The Hornets hosted the Eagles of Linden Friday, Sep. 10.

The Eagles started the game off strong in the first half 34-7.

The Hornets wouldn’t back down the second half scoring 14 unanswered points with a touchdown pass from junior Braydn Weidenhammer. Senior Derrick Phipps ran for a two-yard rushing touchdown.

The Eagles kept the pace of the game in their favor blowing the Hornets out of the water 47-21 to end the game.

Sophomore Donovan Harrington believes the team has learned from this game.

“We are feeling like we need to have a bounce back week.” Harrington said. “Last week we learned a lot about our team.”

After this loss, the Hornets fall to 1-2 for the season

The Hornets will travel to Flushing to take on the Raiders this Friday, Sep. 17.
