Emily Gilbert breaks records for swim
The swim team competed with Lake Fenton against Swartz Creek and Flushing Thursday Oct. 1 at a home meet.
The Hornets and Lake Fenton lost 109-67 against the Dragon and Raider duo.
Senior Emily Gilbert, a swimmer from Lake Fenton broke Kearsley’s 100 yard Backstroke record with a final time of 1:05.4, bypassing the 1:06.10 record from Patti Yorks 1976.
Junior Holly Hoskey is proud of Gilbert’s accomplishments.
“The moment she looked at the board when she hit the wall she jumped out of the water and everyone huddled around her,” Hoskey said. “It shows the team is improving and is striving for greatness.”
