Competitive Cheer placed fourth at the Grand Blanc Invitational Saturday, Jan. 24.

The competitive cheer team took fourth at the Grand Blanc Invitational tournament Saturday, Jan. 25.

The Hornets finished with a total of 763.38 points.

Allen Park earned first place with a total of 792.54 points.

Gibraltar Carlson came in second with a total of 794.08 points.

Walled Lake Western came in third with 773.40 points.

Kearsley had 231.60 points in the first round, 218.88 points in the second round, and 311.90 in the third round.

Despite coming in fourth, senior Katia Traeye-Encarnacion thinks the team is using its placing as motivation for the rest of their season.

“I felt that the comp on Saturday really boosted our confidence as a team and showed us how close we are to achieving our goal of going to states,” Traeye-Encarnacion said.

The Hornets will host the Kearsley Invitational competition Saturday, Feb. 1.
