Brendan Nowacki, junior, is optimistic for the 2018-19 swimming and diving season.

Swim team looks forward to season with new athletes

The Hornets will begin their swim season with a league meet Thursday, Jan. 10, at Swartz Creek.

Junior Brendan Nowacki anticipates that the new swimmers will be a strength in the 2018-19 season.

“With more people, we’ll have a wider diversity of skills,” Nowacki said.

Nowacki is more optimistic than at the start of the 2017-18 season, in which the team’s record was 2-8.

Teaching the new swimmers may be a challenge this season.

“It will take a lot of work,” Nowacki said. “The freshman will have to learn a lot. The majority of them are very inexperienced.”
