Tennis defeats Bay City Central
The tennis team went up against Bay City Central on Tuesday, May 15, winning 5-3.
The team improved its record to 6-6-1 overall, 2-5 in the Metro League.
Winning for the singles flights were junior Stephanie Lane and freshman Jaqueline Olivo.
Lane won her No. 1 singles match at 6-1 and 6-1, while Olivo won 6-0 and 6-3.
For the doubles teams, winners were the No. 1 flight of junior Brooklyn Smith and senior Hannah Hendley, No. 3 flight of senior Mallory Teed and sophomore Kasey Palmer, and the No. 4 flight of juniors Ariel Desjardins and Ellena Dye.
Smith and Hendley won their doubles match 6-0 and 6-2.
Teed and Palmer won 6-4 and 7-5, while Desjardins and Dye won 6-4 and 6-1.
The tennis team will compete in an MHSAA Division 2 regional Thursday, May 17.
