International Day of Families is a day to be celebrated
We all have one. A family is the first thing we know as children.
While families don’t always function the way we want them to, we still have to appreciate that we come from somebody somewhere.
This year, Tuesday, May 15, is International Day of Families, a day in which people all over the world celebrate their heritage and the people around them.
The holiday was formed by the United Nations in 1994, according to National Today
While the holiday is celebrated on May 15 each year, it always has a different theme because there isn’t just one type of family.
If you want to celebrate the people and places you come from, International Day of Families is the day to do it.
Try to get the whole family to plan a day off of work, to put away the cellphones, and to spend time with parts of the family that you don’t see too often.
Go out on a picnic at the park and enjoy the sun with your family. After your picnic, you could go on a walk with the family dog or go for ice cream at the nearest ice cream parlor.
Another way to celebrate with family is to have a family movie night. Get together and rent some movies from Redbox, a movie rental store, or watch them on Netflix.
Enjoy your day with your family and happy International Day of Families from all of us here at The Eclipse.
