Tennis finishes third at Owosso Quad
It was a long, hot day for the four tennis teams at the Owosso Quad Tournament on Saturday, May 5.
But the sunburns were worth it in the end when the Hornets placed third with 13 points.
Overall, the final team results were Durand at first place with 21 points, Owosso in second with 14 points, Kearsley in third with 13 points, and Lansing Eastern in fourth with 0 points.
Juniors Ellena Dye and Macie Godfrey, at No. 4 doubles, were the only flight to earn a first-place medal for the Hornets.
Junior Stephanie Lane, at No. 1 singles, was the only singles flight to earn a second-place medal.
For the doubles teams, No. 1 doubles Brooklyn Smith, junior, and Hannah Hendley, senior, took home second-place medals.
The No. 3 doubles team of Mallory Teed, senior, and Kasey Palmer, sophomore, also earned second-place medals.
