Tennis gets scorched by Dragons
The tennis team went up against Swartz Creek, Wednesday, April 25.
The Hornets fell 5-3, leaving their record at 4-2.
At No. 1 singles, junior Stephanie Lane won both of her sets 6-4, 6-2.
For No. 2 singles, Claudia Moore, junior, lost her match 6-1, 7-6 (7-2).
Junior Chloe Clarambeau, No. 3 singles, and senior Brooke Mannor, No. 4 singles, won their matches.
Clarambeau won 6-0, 6-1, and Mannor’s victory was 6-0, 6-3.
The team didn’t earn any points from the doubles flights.
Each flight was defeated by the Dragons.
No. 1 doubles Brooklyn Smith, junior, and Hannah Hendley, senior, lost their match 6-3, 6-2.
At No. 2 doubles, juniors Emily Jones and Mickeely Dias lost 6-3, 6-4.
Juniors Briahna Greer and Allison Depotty, No. 3, lost theirs 6-0, 6-3.
No. 4 doubles, Ariel Desjardins and Ellena Dye, both juniors, fought hard but lost 6-4, 6-3.
The tennis team will compete again Thursday, April 26, at Owosso to compete with the Trojans.
