Students appreciate their mothers
Sunday, May 13, is one of the most important days of the year, Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is a special day reserved for children to show their mothers how much they love and appreciate everything their mother’s do.
Below, three students share what they love and appreciate about their mothers.
Olivia Dunsmore, Senior
What do you appreciate most about your mom?
“What I appreciate most about my mom is how loving and caring she is. It’s cliche, but I know it’s true,” Dunsmore said. ” She’s genuinely my best friend.”
What’s something special about you and your mom’s relationship?
“My mom and I have a special relationship because I know I can go to her about anything, and she may be mad or disappointed, but in the end she still loves me,” Dunsmore said.
Do you plan on doing anything for your mom on Mother’s Day?
“For Mother’s Day, my sister and I plan on getting our mom a couple’s massage to enjoy with our dad and a gift card so they can go to dinner,” Dunsmore said.
Ayanna Thompson, Senior
What do you appreciate most about your mom?
“Something I appreciate the most about my mom is that she always, no matter what, puts her kids before herself,” Thompson said. “She has the the most caring heart known to earth.”
What’s something special about you and your mom’s relationship?
“Something special about our relationship is that we are a team. Together we work so great. Without her, I sometimes feel lost,” Thompson said. “She’s the closest person to me. The greatest friend I could ever have.”
Do you plan on doing anything for your mom on Mother’s Day?
“On Mother’s Day, I plan to take my mom to Applewood Estate and have a picnic,” Thompson said. “My sister also has something special planned for her later on that night.”
DeMia Johnson, Junior
What do you appreciate most about your mom?
“What I appreciate the most about my mom is how much she does for our family,” Johnson said. “She always makes a way for everything and everybody’s needs around the house even with two special needs children.”
What’s something special about you and your mom’s relationship?
“What’s special about my mom and I’s relationship is that we have a very close relationship,” Johnson said. “We’re very open with each other and joke around all the time. She’s my best friend and mother all in one.”
Do you plan on doing anything for your mom on Mother’s Day?
“For Mother’s Day, I do plan on doing something special for my mom,” Johnson said. “I’m just not exactly sure yet on what to do, though me and my dad will probably take her out for dinner or cook her a homemade meal.”
