A prominent chest can be a lot to juggle

Ladies, we all know how much of a struggle it can be to have breasts.

But some of us females were either blessed  — or cursed — with a more prominent chest. Therefore, we struggle just a bit harder.

Whether your B’s have grown to D’s or D’s have went to E’s, these are my basic ABC’s on how to deal with the large ladies on your chest.

Let’s start with the No. 1 struggle for most girls: finding the correct bra size.

Wearing the wrong sized bra could make or break your outfit.

Not only is it difficult to find larger bra sizes in stores, finding pretty bras in your size is the hardest part of it all.

If you aren’t quite sure what size you are, you can go to places that will take your measurements, like Victoria’s Secret or JCPenney.

Personally, I prefer to do my own because I feel like I can obtain the best results.

If you’d like to measure yours at home, here’s how:

1) While wearing an everyday bra, wrap measuring tape around your rib cage directly under your bust. If the measurement you get is an odd number, round up to the even number.

Follow this chart to find your size. Sizes may vary.

2) Next, move the tape up to the fullest part of your bust and round up to the nearest inch.

3) Finally, use the chart to calculate your size.

Now when it comes to different types of bras, there are so many to choose from it can become overwhelming.

My personal favorite is the T-shirt bra because it’s simple and more comfortable for my body.

A T-shirt bra is described as having thin cups to form to your chest with simple straps.

Because us larger-chested ladies have such a problem finding the correct size bralette to wear, I think the T-shirt bra is the perfect replacement.

It is just as comfortable but gives much more support than a bralette ever would.

Bralettes are meant to be worn with shirts or dresses that show off the back, shoulders, or chest, but normally don’t have the cups or underwire that’s necessary for a bigger chest.

Usually, because I have a smaller midsection but a larger bust, it can be difficult finding bralettes, especially since they normally are not found in bra sizes.

However, I have found bralettes from American Eagle Outfitters that work for me.

I found mine in a size medium, but it just takes a trip to the fitting room to find one that works for you.

Another bra type I would recommend is a racerback.

For those that aren’t sure, a racerback has bra straps criss-crossing in the back, rather than having digging straps on your shoulders.

Racerback bras are especially good for women with a full bust because they have double the support a normal bra would have, which means less back and shoulder pain.

My favorite racerback bra was found at Soma Intimates. This store really doesn’t get as much attention as I think it should.

Soma Intimates is a store filled with all the different kinds of bras from sizes 32A to a 44G.

Sports bras can be a difficult process too, as there’s just as many different choices.

For the longest time I would put myself through wearing two bras every time I went to a practice.

I highly suggest that you don’t do what I did.

Wearing a bra too long can be painful and cause back problems. But imagine wearing two just to keep ’em in place.

If you have support problems in the chest area with just a basic sports bra, my suggestion would be to find a sports bra with cups or even an underwire built in.

Unfortunately, my favorite bra is no longer for sale at Victoria’s Secret. I recommend checking out their website because they include a section meant for maximum support.

I would stay away from the front zipper sports bras since those are prone to unzipping in the front during a workout, which no one wants.

Nike and Torrid also offer high quality sports bras with full support. Cheaper options would be found at stores like Target or JCPenney.

Some quick tips I have for the daily problems us big-chested girls deal with would be to use safety pins to your advantage, use your deodorant for more than just your underarms, and keep your bra healthy.

If your straps seem to keep slipping down, or you just want more support without paying more money, use a safety pin to connect your straps in the back.

Sweat under your breats is nothing to be ashamed of, but there is a way to minimize that problem.

Before going out for a run or practice, apply a thin layer of stick deodorant under your breasts, preferably the clear deodorant so no residue is left.

Organizing your bras hanger by hanger will help keep the form of your bra while drying it once its fresh out of the washing machine.

Bras can be pretty pricey, so it’s important to keep each one healthy in order to use it to it’s full potential.

Never, ever, put your bras through the drying machine. Hang your bras and underwear to dry, especially if they are lace or silk fabric.

Also, do not fold your bras. Folding them could ruin the cups or underwire. I suggest putting them on hangers or laying them flat in a dresser drawer.

Since the summer season is coming soon, let’s discuss the summer issues us ladies have to go through.

For me, finding a pretty swimsuit that also fits my chest has always been a struggle.

I’ve gone through all the different types to find the perfect one: bikinis, tankinis, which are two-piece swimsuits that have a bikini brief and a tank top, and maillots, which are one-piece swimsuits.

I prefer bikinis because they are much easier for me to find a top and a bottom that fits correctly.

Bikini tops are great to look for because some stores offer sizes according to your bra size.

I know stores like Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, and Torrid sell swimsuit tops in bra sizes so you can get the perfect fit.

Bigger breasts means higher support. Even when it comes to swimsuits, if you want to feel good, your top needs to include at least an underwire or padded cups.

I know wearing padded, underwired cups can be uncomfortable at times, but they’re very important when it comes to support.

Stores I would stay away from for swimsuits would be American Eagle, Forever 21, and Zumies because most of the swimsuits offered will not have support in the chest area.

If bikinis aren’t your thing, it is possible to find suitable maillots and tankinis.

JCPenney has a great selection of all different types of swimsuits. It just takes trial and error to find the right fit.

Ladies, we shouldn’t feel ashamed just because our cleavage is more prominent.

It’s a part of who we are. Our bodies are nothing to be self-conscious of.

Flaunt your stuff and be confident in who you are because that’s when women shine their best.
