Compliment Day encourages students to be kind
National Compliment Day may seem like something little, but it’s the little things that can make someone’s day.
Wednesday, Jan. 24, is the day of compliments. Just say something little to boost someone’s self-esteem.
Doesn’t it feel good to be complimented?
Compliment someone on even something as little as saying you like their new haircut.
Maybe if people started complimenting each other instead of putting each other down our world would be an better place.
Freshman Andrew Woods believes complimenting people can help their self-esteem.
“It is important to compliment people because it boosts people’s self esteem and makes them feel better about themselves,” Woods said.
A compliment has a powerful effect and it can give a person confidence.
Freshman Hannah Walker believes if you hear someone say something mean you should cheer them up.
“I compliment most of my friends. I just feel it would make someone’s day better,” Walker said. “Like if someone says something negative to someone, cheer them up, make someone’s day. Just the little things can do a lot.”
When complimenting someone, try to compliment them on what makes them unique.
Sophomore Savanna Keskes does little things to make a person’s day better.
“Little things I do is I tell them I like their outfit, or their hair, or even their shoes,” Keskes said. “I also start conversations with people to make their day better.”
