Jenkins sinks 3-pointer to squeeze past Linden
The boys’ basketball team took on Linden at home Jan. 13, winning the game 62-59.
Junior Deitrick Young finished as the game-high scorer with 23 points. He also led Kearsley (4-4, 2-3) with six rebounds.
Senior Jalen Gallery contributed to the scoreboard with 18 points.
Senior Bryce Jenkins finished the night with 14 points, along with the 3-point shot that won the game. Jenkins also had five steals and six assists.
Coach Paul Adas said that despite not playing well, the Hornets were able to find a way to win.
“We didn’t play our best tonight, but a buzzer-beating shot to win is better than being on the losing side of it like we were Friday night,” Adas said.
The Hornets play at Ortonville-Brandon on Jan. 16.
