Senior powder puff court enjoys final Homecoming
The Class of 2018’s powder puff court is represented by five seniors. These seniors are Jonathon Conley, Jacob Kunkel, Thomas Plunkey, Teven Thompson-Farrior, and Spencer Wolfe. You may have voted for them, but do you really know them? The Eclipse wants to let you all get to know your court members a little better.
Jonathon Conley
Conley is 17 years old. His family includes his parents Mr. and Mrs. John and Tina Conley, his brother Matt, his two sisters Erin and Caitlin, and his dog Chester.
Conley does not play any sports but joined the powerlifting team last year and plans to return this year.
He enjoys working out, fishing, and playing beach volleyball and frisbee.
Conley is currently undecided on what he wants to do after high school.
He appreciates that he has been selected to be on court.
“I am honored my classmates chose me,” Conley said.
Conley will be escorted by senior Makalia Jenkins.
Jacob Kunkel
Kunkel is 17 years old. His family includes his mom Ms. Heather Vokes, his father Mr. Paul Kunkel, stepmom Mrs. Jackie Kunkel, his sister Paviana, and his two stepbrothers Devyn and Ethan Rutherford.
Kunkel has played football and baseball for the past 10 years for Kearsley.
He also participates in the powerlifting team and is an assistant coach for a youth football team.
Kunkel plans to attend Lansing Community College to get a lineman degree and pursue his dream to be a lineman for Consumers Energy.
He said it is a privilege to be on court.
“I think it’s an honor that my friends and classmates chose me to represent the Class of 2018,” Kunkel said.
Kunkel will be escorted by his sister Paviana Kunkel.
Thomas Plunkey
Plunkey is 18 years old. His family includes his mom Ms. Angie Tomczyk, his younger brother Michael, and his older brother Russel, who is in the Air Force.
Plunkey has been a starter on the varsity football team for three years and played on the j.v team his freshman year. Plunkey played on the j.v baseball team as a freshman and plans to participate in the sport again this year.
Plunkey enjoys fishing, frisbee, and playing volleyball.
Plunkey plans to attend a four year college to get a degree in engineering.
Plunkey is excited to be on court.
“(I am) very excited,” Plunkey said. “I’ll enjoy looking back at these times.”
Plunkey will be escorted by his brother, freshman Michael Plunkey.
Teven Thompson-Farrior
Thompson-Farrior is 17 years old. His family includes his mom Ms. Laura Thompson, his dad Mr. Derrick Farrior, his brother Derrick Farrior Jr., and two sisters Tyra and Tatem Thompson-Farrior.
Thompson-Farrior has played football for six years, was a part of the powerlifting team last year and plans to return this year, and plans to join the track team this year.
He is a part of the National Honor Society and Student Council.
Thompson-Farrior plans to attend the University of Michigan or Michigan Tech.
He is looking forward to being on the court.
“(I am) excited because my favorite person, Zoe Zaravelis, is also on court,” Thompson-Farrior said.
He will be escorted by senior Zoe Zaravelis.
Spencer Wolfe
Wolfe is 18 years old. His family includes his dad Mr. Brian Wolfe Sr., two brothers Tracy and Brian Wolfe Jr., twin sisters Emma and Katie Wolfe, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Virginia Wolfe.
Wolfe does not participate in sports but enjoys doing makeup, getting tattoos and piercings, spending time with friends, and making others laugh.
Wolfe plans to continue doing makeup and eventually create his own makeup line and become a drag queen.
Wolfe is thrilled to be on court.
“I am so so so thrilled and honored to be on court,” Wolfe said. “It’s one of the best school years of my life.”
Wolfe will be escorted by senior Madison Kilpatrick and his dad.
Powder puff king will be announced between the powder puff semifinal games Monday, Oct. 9.
