Juniors, underclassmen represent the homecoming court well

Four juniors, two sophomores, and two freshmen were picked to represent their classes for the 2017 homecoming court.

Mickeely Dias, Ri’Kiyha Dickerson, Aryiana Laney and Krista Staley make up the  junior court.

Felicia Cunningham and Jazzmine Wolfe make up the sophomore court.

Finally, Isabella Baltosser and Natalie Miller make up the freshman court.

Mickeely Dias 

Dias is 16 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. John and Crystal Dias.

Dias’ hobbies include hanging out with friends, eating, watching Netflix and seeing her papa.

She participates in Student Council, volleyball, and tennis.

“(I’ve done) Student Council for four years, volleyball since second grade, travel volleyball since seventh grade, and tennis since last year,” Dias said.

Dias believes its a privilege to be on court.

“It’s such an honor because it’s (court) been around forever so you get to be a part of history in a way,” Dias said.”I’m fortunate to be a part of this tradition and represent my class.”

Ri’Kiyha Dickerson

Dickerson is 16 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rick and Chantel Dickerson.

Dickerson’s hobbies include shopping and reading.

Dickerson was surprised to be selected to represent her class on court.

“I never would have thought about being on court, and I’m honored to be,” Dickerson said.

Aryiana Laney

Laney is 16 years old.

Her parents are Mr. Marvin Laney and Ms. Heather Brandt.

Laney’s hobbies include cooking, singing, cheering, and dancing.

She participates on the varsity cheer team.

“I participate in cheer right now,” Laney said. “I have been doing cheer since I was like 7 years old.”

She found it difficult to express herself in regard to being chosen by her classmates.

“No words can explain my feelings about being on court,” Laney said. “Being on court is really a once-in-a-lifetime event.”

Senior Marcelis Collins will escort her at the pep assembly.

Krista Staley 

Staley is 16 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dirk and Kristy Staley.

Staley’s hobbies include reading, writing, painting, and napping whenever she can.

Staley is on the track team and volunteers in the community.

“I’ve participated in track and field for three years, and (work) at the homeless shelter whenever I can,” Staley said.

Staley said she appreciates being on court.

“It is memorable to be on court because it means a lot to me to know that people would vote for me without my knowledge,” Staley said. “It truly warms my heart to be able to experience this alongside with my parents and friends. I didn’t expect to hear my name, but it was a huge surprise. A big thank you (goes out) to everyone that made this happen.”

Sophomores

Felicia Cunningham

Cunningham is 15 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. John and Tina Cunningham.

Cunningham’s hobbies include watching movies, eating, and sleeping.

She participates in three sports; swimming, volleyball, and soccer.

“(I’ve done) swim for five years, volleyball for six years, and soccer for three years,” Cunningham said.

She feels deserving to be on court.

“Every woman deserves to be a queen in their lifetime, ” Cunningham said.

Jazzmine Wolfe

Wolfe is 15 years old.

Her parents are Mr. Scott Grouxle and Ms. Danielle Wolfe.

Wolfe’s hobbies include running, cheer-leading, and sleeping.

She is a member of the junior varsity cheer team.

“I’ve participated in Kearsley cheer since seventh grade,” Wolfe said.

She is thrilled to be on court this year.

“I’m extremely excited, and I feel special and very lucky to enjoy this experience,” Wolfe said. “Knowing that people are supporting me is extremely comforting.”

Freshmen

Isabella Baltosser

Baltosser is 15 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. David and Joanne Baltosser.

She enjoys volunteering in her spare time and spending time with friends.

She also is on the varsity cheer team.

“I’ve participated in both sideline and competitive cheer for the last three years,” Baltosser said.

She is thankful for the opportunity to be on court.

“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and honored that I have been chosen to represent the Class of 2021,” Baltosser said.

Sophomore Rodney Baltosser and alumna Hailey Baltosser, Isabella’s sister, will escort her at the pep assembly.

Natalie Miller 

Miller is 14 years old.

Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Jeanette Miller.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her little cousin Carter. She also enjoys going to the gym and working on new tumbling skills.

Miller is on the varsity cheer team.

“In general I’ve done cheer for five years, but I made KVC this year,” Miller said.

Miller believes being on court is unforgettable.

“Being on court is memorable because every little girl dreams of being a princess for a day,” Miller said.
