The golf team defeated Linden 190-198 on Wednesday, May 3, at the Flint Elks Country Club.

Senior Connor Vansteenburg led the team with 43 strokes, finishing as the medalist.

Junior Jack Vollmar and sophomore Logan Loyer helped their team with scores of 48 apiece.

Loyer is proud of how his game is getting better this season.

“I see myself improving,” Loyer said. “How I played yesterday was the best I’ve been all season.”

Sophomore Stephen White, also a member of the golf team, was glad his team won yesterday but believes their performance could have been better.

“We got the win,” White said. “We didn’t play too hot, but we still managed it.”

The Hornets play next at the Genesee County Championships, which will be held at Coyote Preserve on Monday, May 8.
