Students appreciate their mothers on Mother’s Day
It’s that time of year again where we get to celebrate our wonderful mothers.
Whether it’s gift giving or just a day spent together, make sure to find a way to let your mother know she’s appreciated for all the hard work she does on Mother’s Day, which is Sunday, May 14.
Junior Karinna Glandon and her mom have a close bond.
“I think me and my mom have a really good relationship,” Glandon said. “I’d do anything for my mom and she’d do anything for me.”
Between shopping trips, Sunday brunch, and making dinners together, there’s nothing like a mother-daughter bond
“My mom means a lot to me because she’s been my best friend throughout my whole life,” Glandon said. “Especially being an only child”
Glandon said that for this Mother’s Day she plans on taking her mom out to see a movie and giving her some of her favorite gifts.
Sophomore Stephanie Lane said she and her mom share many similar traits, which is why they have such a good relationship.
“We both have the quirky, bubbly personality,” Lane said. “We oftentimes say something dumb and end up laughing and crying.”
Lane said she and her mom bond through shopping, talking, and watching “Grey’s Anatomy.”
“My mom means a lot to me because she has gone through a lot and is, overall, a strong individual who looks for the good in others,” Lane said.
For this Mother’s Day, Lane plans on going Up North with her mom and grandma.
No matter what, moms will always be our number one supporters, and, let’s be honest, without them life would be challenging.
Junior Alanna Montgomery said, “My mother means everything to me, that’s my boo-bear.”
Everyone has different plans for celebrating their moms.
Montgomery said that her family usually cooks a homemade meal for her mom and gives her gifts.
Though her mom might not know it, Montgomery said she appreciates that her mother is “honest, and whenever she hurts my feelings she always apologizes to me.”
“I just love her,” Montgomery said. “She’s my whole life.”
