The golf team fell to the Fenton Tigers 165-183 at the Flint Elks Club on Tuesday, April 25.

Senior Connor VanSteenburg was the match’s medalist, shooting a 39.

Junior Jack Vollmar and sophomore Tyler Gronauer also helped their team with scores of 42 and 49, respectively.

Gronauer sees improvement among his teammates and their performance.

“Overall, we’ve improved,” Gronauer said. “Some people took in lower scores while some people could’ve done better.”

Although Gronauer sees the team getting better, he still sees the game to be challenging.

“It’s, honestly, all a mental game,” Gronauer said. “That’s what I think we all need to realize.”

The Hornets next match will be against Swartz Creek on Wednesday, April 26, at Genesee Valley Meadows.
