Boys basketball finishes league play with win over Clio
The boys basketball team defeated Clio in its last Flint Metro League game 65-49 Friday, Feb. 24.
Kearsley finished with a 6-8 league record and is 9-10 overall.
Celebrating senior night, the Hornets were led to victory with the assistance of all three of their seniors.
Senior Darrion Younger had a career high of 22 points.
“I was proud of my team for playing strong and finishing the Flint Metro League with a win,” Younger said. “And I was proud of myself for pushing my career high to 22 points.”
Senior Chandler Ford contributed 16 points and was satisfied with the team’s success.
“It is sad knowing that I will never play another Flint Metro League game again,” Ford said. “But I am happy us seniors were able to pull out another win in our last league game.”
Senior Lyric McMasters had another outstanding defensive performance and contributed four points.
Kearsley finishes its regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 28, facing off at home against Owosso.
