In a non-league matchup, boys basketball beat Montrose 56-41 on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Leading the Hornets to victory on the road was senior Chandler Ford with 14 points and junior Taveon Harris with 13 points.

Kearsley started the first quarter off strong with a 20-point lead, but Montrose was able to catch up to bring the game closer.

“We played well, and at half time we had a chance to really pull away in the game,” Ford said. “But the game got away from us in the second half. In the end, we managed to hang on and get the win.”

Senior Lyric McMasters and junior Devyn Sredich each contributed seven points.

Senior night will be Friday, Feb. 24, at home against Clio.
