Sophomore Kristopher Perry

Sophomore Kristopher Perry is a family-oriented, goal driven, and high achieving young man.

From a young age, Perry has been influenced by his sisters. He enjoys spending time with them.

“My favorite hobbies growing up would be going to the park with my sisters because we always played tag, card games like Uno, and raced around playing,” Perry said.

Perry’s sisters are a huge part of his life. Even his favorite memory involves his sisters.

“My favorite memory would be when I fractured my ankle and my sisters had to take care of me the entire time,” Perry said. “They made me all kinds of sweets and food through it all.”

All in all, Perry describes his family as random and unexpected, but he loves them all the same. He would do anything in his power not to disappoint them.

“I am afraid of disappointing my family and letting them down,” Perry said. “They believe in me so much, and I’m afraid they’d lose confidence in me if I mess up.”

Perry shows that he’s not OK with failure.

He does everything he can to be the best at everything he does. His good study habits and extracurricular activities show it.

Perry is known for taking the hardest classes possible. He enjoys the challenge and sees rigorous academics as being able to help him in the future.

“I spend my free time generally by studying because I plan to do big things in life, and I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal,” Perry said.

His mom is the reason for this. He believes that with her support and the sacrifices she’s made, he’ll have a better future.

“I most admire my mom because she has been through so much just to make sure I have a good future and so I don’t follow the wrong path,” Perry said.

Perry also enjoys participating in step dancing at his church as an extracurricular activity.

“The most defining moments in my life were my dance performances at church and around the state,” Perry said.

Because of Perry’s unique qualities, he’s able to make friends rather quickly.

His friends, sophomores Jamarius Harris and Madeline Raysin described Perrys traits.

“He’s a really nice guy who, unlike a lot of guys, is really focused on schoolwork,” Raysin said. “He also cares on what goes on in others’ lives like if you’re upset. He’ll make sure you’re OK.”

Raysin also described what makes Perry so unique.

“He’s unique because he’s a dancer, which is really cool because you don’t know many guys who dance,” Raysin said.

Harris thinks highly of Perry, especially considering their friendship of many years.

“I would describe Kris as smart, funny, sympathetic, caring, helpful, and positive,” Harris said. “He’s always putting others in a good mood even if it means ruining his.”

Even his teachers find Perry to be an all-around well-balanced, high-achieving, caring student.

Mr. Robert Markwardt sees Perry achieving many things as he grows as a student.

“Kris is a quiet guy who goes about his business as necessary. Kris’ best quality is his positive attitude and his desire for self-improvement,” Markwardt said. “Kris will continue to improve academically because of his qualities as a young man and student.”

Perry continue to impress everyone that’s around him. With all of his outstanding qualities, many people believe he will one day become someone important and achieve his goals in life.
