The dance team attended a camp at Oakland University in July 2016.

Kearsley’s dance team, K-Motion, will hold a second tryout Wednesday, Oct. 26.

K-Motion had 15 dancers on the team last year. This year, after the first tryouts, the team had seven dancers, so Coach Shelby Cooper is holding a second tryout in hopes to gain more dancers.

The tryout is from 6-8 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Junior Sydney Wharram has been on the dance team for two years, and was named captain this year. Wharram excited to have the opportunity to have new teammates.

“I have to say that, as captain, I am very excited to see new talent coming in,” Wharram said. “I can’t wait to watch everyone grow together as a family.”

K-Motion performs at all of the home varsity boys basketball games. The dancers are required to learn a new dance every week.

Senior Brittney Dick is trying out for K-Motion for the first team this year.

“I enjoy dancing and I have previous experience, plus I enjoy staying active,” Dick said. “When I heard that K-Motion was having a second tryout, I knew it was a great opportunity for me.”
