Boys’ basketball wins season opener at Mt. Morris

The boys’ basketball team won its first game at Mt. Morris 69-49 on Dec.9.

Coach Paul Adas said the Hornets’ defense won the game.

“The team struggled offensively with too many turnovers, and that is to be expected in the first game of the season,” Adas said.

Senior Jalen Gallery led the team in scoring with 12 points.

Senior Anton Webster and junior Liam Grathoff both finished the game with 10 points.

Junior Deitrick Young chipped in 9 points, senior Bryce Jenkins added 8, and junior Coi Jenkins had 7.

Adas said the offense should get better.

“I expect the team to improve in their offensive execution with more game experience,” Adas said.
