Chuchvara wrestles his way through life — literally
Chuchu, A. Wicked, and Adam: Those are the names senior Adam Chuchvara goes by.
No, Chuchvara does not have a double life, but he loves the life of a wrestler.
And no, this is not the type of wrestling that our high school competes in. This is something a little more like WWE, or what you see on TV. It is called Michigan Wrestling Organization.
Always ready to have a fun time full of laughter and getting along with people, Chuchvara expresses himself through wrestling.
“It’s a way to get it (stress) out emotionally and physically,” Chuchvara said.
Wrestling is a way for him to create a character full of “high-flying,” “crazy,” and “fun” characteristics.
Chuchvara looked to wrestling as a child, watching and witnessing the “charisma” of the wrestlers, but as he grew, the game changed for him.
He knew that this sport was potentially dangerous, but the “A Wicked” inside him could not stay away.
“It’s not fake. It hurts every day of my life,” Chuchvara said. “I have problems with my back, but I still love it. I still go back for more and more. That’s why I love it so much, because it’s so amazing.”
When Chuchvara talks of his beloved sport, you can feel his passion.
All he asks for is that people respect him and the sport he loves.
Family and friends of Chuchvara are just as large of a part in his life as wrestling, seeing as they are his biggest supporters.
Senior Shelby Cantrell, Chuchvara’s girlfriend, is one of his supporters.
“I’ve been to everyone (of his wrestling matches) I can since summer,” Cantrell said. “I think he’s the best on the roster and gets better each match.”
According to Cantrell, he has even made it to a match in southern Ohio, expanding his branches.
Chuchvara wrestles independently, meaning he is not confined to one place and can wrestle wherever he chooses.
Because of this, he has created a bond with some of his fellow wrestlers and even looks up to them.
He looks up to some fellow wrestlers like John Campbell and JJ Hughes.
He would like to move up to Ring of Honor or Total NonStop Action wrestling, which are both aired on TV.
“He’s very outgoing, so he’s good for this sort of activity,” Cantrell said. “He’s good at being the bad guy or the good guy.”
According to his best friend, senior Chance Wikaryasz, Chuchvara is very “flamboyant” yet “generous.”
Chuchvara chooses to be kind and relatable while he tries to show people the real side of wrestling.
“I can get along with anybody and relate to other subjects,” Chuchvara said. “I like people who respect me, and I respect them back. If you can’t take a joke, then I’m sorry.”
He takes his wrestling seriously and believes everybody else should too.
“I tell them what it’s like and they think it’s fake,” Chuchvara said. “And it’s not fake. Everyday it puts my body on the line.”
