Kearsley’s prom is Saturday, April 30.

With prom quickly approaching this week, here are five tips and tricks that will help girls achieve their dream night.

Sleep

We are always told that it is ideal to get at least eight hours of sleep, but with homework and other responsibilities it is hard to get that many Zs. But with an important night approaching, no girl, or guy, wants dark circles under their eyes.

Not only will getting enough sleep help your eyes, it will help you feel refreshed and ready to go dance the night away.

Hair and makeup

For some of us, doing our hair and makeup is not a big deal, we do it everyday. But for others, this is the one night we get to go all out.

If you have an appointment, show up on time and wear something that you do not have to lift over your head, such as a button-up shirt or zip-up jacket.

If you are getting your makeup done, contact the makeup artist and ask if there is anything you need to do in preparation of getting beautified.

Of course, always wash your face immediately after wearing makeup for a long period of time. Let those pores breathe!

Shoes and jewelry

Yes we all want to rock those 5-inch heels, but let’s face it, those can lead to blisters and cramped toes.

For girls wearing a long dress that will cover their feet, you should consider bringing a change of shoes, such as slippers to change into.

No one can see your shoes, and it will save your toes from a night of pain. You will be comfy and ready to rock the night.

If you are not sure if you feel ready to wear heels, practice walking in them as much as you can before the big day.

In terms of jewelry, less is more. You don’t want your jewelry to steal the show.

Water

For any situation, water is always the answer. But you are probably wondering how this will help you have a successful prom night?

Staying hydrated will not only give you energy, it will make you feel better about your body.

Staying healthy and hydrated will give you an extra boost of confidence for your big day.

Drinking a glass of cold water the morning of prom will wake you up and give you the perk up you need for a long day.

Prom morning

The morning of the big day can be extremely stressful.

It is best that you make a list the night before to eliminate issues that could ruin your busy day.

It is best to eat a breakfast that will give you plenty of energy for the day. Washing your face as soon as you wake up will give you a boost of energy to start the day off right, too.

Having a smooth morning will not only help your mood, it will make for an easy transition into your night of dancing.

Whether you have an extremely busy day for Saturday, April 30, or are taking the easy road, being fully prepared will make for a perfect night for prom.
