Senior year comes with several events.

Senior year comes with a lot of events.

From prom to the senior skit, seniors are constantly busy.

Prom

Prom is Saturday, April 30, at the Lapeer Country Club.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m.

The theme is “Royal Masquerade” and students are encouraged (but not required) to wear masks or crowns.

Tickets went on sale Monday, April 18, and are available at all lunches.

Tickets will not be sold at the door.

They are $40 per person.

Senior skit

There will be a senior skit meeting this Friday, April 22.

There will be several more meetings to make sure the skit gets done on time.

Some may even be on the weekends.

It is important that people that want to participate are there.

Filming will begin the week after prom.

Not everyone is going to get the role they want, but everyone that wants to be included will be.

If you have any questions please contact one of the senior class officers.

Graduation

Commencement is June 4 at 7 p.m.

Practice is the day before at 9 a.m.

For Class Day and commencement, the dress code is the same.

Men should wear a white dress shirt, a tie, black or navy blue dress pants, dress socks, and black dress shoes under their gowns.

Ladies should wear a light-colored dress with white shoes. Colored tights are not allowed. If you are to wear them they must be skin colored.

Both men and women should wear their mortarboards, or caps, as level as possible.

The tassel should be draped over the right temple.  Once you officially graduate, you will move the tassel to the left side.

Seniors are not allowed to decorate their caps or gowns.

Caps and gowns can be picked up May 27 at 12:30 p.m. at the high school.

Senior choice awards

The senior choice awards will be held May 31 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Final exams

For seniors who received all of their exam exemptions, your last day of school is May 25.

If you did not, your exams start on May 26 when you will take your fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-hour exams.

Your first-, second-, and third-hour exams are May 27.

Graduation requirements

Seniors who do not have all of the state requirements necessary will not get to participate in any of these events nor will they receive a cap and gown or diploma.
