Juniors can help themselves de-stress when taking the SAT

This is the first year KHS students will have to take the SAT, and that may be frightening to some.

According to the CollegeBoard, Michigan’s SAT testing will be conducted statewide on Tuesday, April 12, and scores should be released from mid to late May.

Here are a few tips to keep you somewhat stress free:

1- Eat breakfast that morning.

I promise that taking a few minutes so you are not hungry will help. You will not have to worry about your stomach grumbling in a silent room.

2- Go to bed at a decent time.

Waking up exhausted to take a test that will determine much of your future schooling is not a good idea.

3- Take practice tests seriously.

This way you will know what you  need to work on and what you are strong in.

Here are some websites from the CollegeBoard and Khan Academy where you can practice for the test.

4- Remember that you can retake it.

If you are antsy or just not prepared, you will have more chances.

5- Do not go in thinking this is the most important test of your life.

But also, do not go in thinking it is not important. A high score does help a lot when it comes to college scholarships.

6- Be confident.

Believe you will do fine. Half of the battle is believing in yourself.

The test is not as bad as you would think.

Do not let people who did not even take the SAT tell you different.

Believe in yourself, and you will do fine.
