The cheer team snatched its second win of the season at its home competition Saturday, Feb. 6.

Clio was the runner-up, trailed by Fenton.

Since their last competition, the Hornets improved their overall score for rounds two and three, ending with a 15.68-point lead over the Mustangs.

They received a score of 222.6 points for round one, 210.88 points for round two, and 317.8 points for round three.

Many of the cheerleaders, including junior Kaitlyn Alburtus, were impressed with the scores that the team received for each round at the competition, believing that being at home influenced the way they performed.

“Being at home has such an impact on the way we perform,” Alburtus said. “Having all of our friends, family, and people from the district there cheering for us is such a great thrill. We could not have done any better.”

The girls’ next competition is a league meet on Wednesday, Feb. 10, hosted by Clio.
