Spring into fashion with pastels, denim
Between April showers and an increase in temperature, it is almost time for girls to start changing their wardrobe again.
Boot socks and heavy scarves will soon be put away until the fall.
So what is everyone prepared to wear as they truck through the mud and rain?
Rain boots
Rain boots are season neutral, but in the spring months they are practically a necessity.
April showers are a serious matter and shoes that you can easily wipe off and not worry about wet feet with are perfect.
Senior Lexie Harburn adores her Coach rain boots.
“Being able to quickly slip on some rain boots when you know there’s going to be puddles outside is a cute and easy way to dress for spring,” Harburn said.
Senior Rylee Teague also loves her rain boots and wears them year-round.
Pastels
Spring is notorious for its soft colors.
Between Easter and May flowers, pastels are perfect.
Light pinks, blues, and soft greens will make any outfit less harsh and more spring ready.
Freshman Mallory Simms loves pastels.
“Pastels are a fun way to spice up spring outfits,” Simms said.
Freshman Emma Bishoff thinks a cute, simple skirt with a pastel-colored top and a scarf makes the perfect outfit.
Open-toed shoes
As the weather warms up, peep-toed shoes and sandals are brought back up.
Senior Colleen Desrochers thinks open-toed wedges are cute for the spring time, plus they are easier to walk in than regular heels.
Bishoff agrees and thinks it is a good idea to pair these with boyfriend capris.
Jean jackets
It may not be warm enough to wear sundresses by themselves yet, but a jean-jacket over will keep you from getting too cool.
Jean jackets can match virtually anything and look especially adorable with floral dresses.
If you are looking to be more edgy, try adding a faux leather jacket instead.
Freshman Stephanie Lane suggests colored jeans with these jackets instead of regular denim.
Flower crowns
Nothing says spring more than flowers.
What better way to showcase them than on a headband?
Senior Carryn White thinks they are a girly way to make even your hair look “springy.”
“Flower crowns are fun and creative. You can even make them yourself,” White said.
Flower crowns are essentially stretchy headbands and fake flowers, so you can make your own exactly how you want with hot glue.
Sweat pants
Senior Rylee Teague says the main fashion she is making this spring is comfy sweats.
“It is senior year and if I want to wear sweat pants I will wear sweat pants,” Teague said.
Lane agrees that comfort should be the top priority.
“Wear what you feel comfortable in. Do not feel like you have to wear something just because everyone else is,” Lane said.
Comfort is key.
When you are at school, being comfortable may improve your experience, but following these tips also might.
Everyone is different and everyone should dress to their own liking, not anyone else’s.
