Defending a regional championship is no easy task.

Mr. Luther Brown, wrestling coach, knows this and is looking forward to the challenge this season.

“This year people want to test our resolve,” Brown said. “I am really interested to see how the team responds to the hype.”

Currently ranked No. 7 in the state in Division 2, the Hornets, who lost in the quarterfinal last year, will have to work hard to fill in some weight classes that they need.

There will be 12 grapplers returning along with many rookies who will be joining the team this season.

Junior Reese Harburn is confident that the team will be successful this season.

“If everyone pushes themselves to the max, we should make it to states again,” Harburn said.

Wrestling officially began the 2015-2016 season with practices on Monday, Nov. 16.
