Martin, Bond lead cross country teams at Genesee
The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both took 12th place in the Genesee Invitational at the Cummings Event Center on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Sophomore Donald Martin led the boys, running the 5,000 meters in 19:32.2.
Martin placed 19th overall, eight places ahead of sophomore Robbie Parkhurst.
Parkhurst finished in 20:19.1.
The girls, not to be outdone by the boys, matched their total score of 284 points.
Senior Diane Bond and junior Alexis Kelly finished 19th and 20th, respectively, with the former finishing in 23:48.7 and the latter running it in 23:54.4.
The Hornets next event will be Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Chesaning Invitational.
