The University of Michigan-Flint will host TubaChristmas on Dec. 13.

The 41-year-old event will have its Flint performance at 12:30 p.m. in the Flint Farmers Market.

TubaChristmas is a show that highlights Tubas and Euphoniums, the lowest pitch brass instruments.

Dr. Christopher Heidenreich, from UM-Flint, will be coordinating and conducting the event.

Three Kearsley band members are playing in the concert.

Junior Jarrod Cummings and senior Travis Perakovic will play the tuba. In addition, this reporter, sophomore Ryan Thomas, will play the euphonium.

Cummings eagerly awaits playing in the event.

“I’ve been doing TubaChristmas for two years now,” Cummings said. “It’s a tradition since the ’70s. Some people have done it since it started back then.”
