Competitive cheer took first in the Flint Metro League championship at Brandon High School Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The Hornets finished with a total of 732.06 points.
Swartz Creek earned second place with a total of 725.10 points.
Clio placed third with 721.06 points.
The Hornets had 225.90 points in the first round, 219.36 points in the second round, and 294.80 points in the third round.
Junior Megan Flynn is proud that all of the team’s work has paid off.
“All of the hard work we had put in is finally paying off,” Flynn said. “Even with our mistakes, it allowed us to come out on top.”
Junior Isabella Baltosser believes that although the team has come a long way with their hard work.
“I’m extremely proud of my team for being able to pull out this championship, even with some of the obstacles we had to overcome,” Baltosser said. “We have some work to do but all of our hard work this past year is paying off and allowing us to get to where we want to be.”
The Hornets will compete next Saturday, Feb. 8 , at Fenton High School for the Tiger Invitational.
