Students plunge into Thespian Society

The International Thespian Society has troupes all over the world, including Kearsley’s Troupe 3137.

Aspiring troupe members audition for as many plays as possible, trying to accumulate the necessary 10 points, or 100 hours of theater-related service, to join the troupe.

Kearsley’s troupe is run by President Julie Lemon, Vice President Trent Turkovics, and Secretary/Treasurer Katie Valley.

Lemon, a junior, said, “As president, I am responsible for setting up fundraisers, sparking interest in others, and organizing meetings.”

Mr. John Hall will be in charge of the Thespian Troupe and will be inducting members.

Time and dedication is required in order to become a thespian.

Being a thespian is a huge honor for many up-and-coming actors.

“Time and dedication is required in order to become a thespian,” Lemon said, “and once you are a thespian, you are one for life.”
