Boys track places fourth at Goodrich Invitational

Taking fourth place of the large schools in the Goodrich Invitational on Friday, May 3, the boys track team earned 76 points.

Traveling to Goodrich High School for an invitational tournament, the boys track team ran for fourth place on Friday, May 3, with 76 points.

Carman-Ainsworth dominated the tournament with 159.5 points, while Swartz Creek checked in at second with 97.

Lakeview St. Clair Shores captured third with 89 points.

Field events were strong for the Hornets, as the team placed first and second overall in the discus.

Senior Dylan Buschur took first with a throw of 139 feet, 3 inches, while senior Eddie Harris’ personal record of 136-02 came in second.

Harris threw for 44-03 in the shot put, taking another silver medal.

Taking first in the 100-meter high hurdles, sophomore Braylon Silvas ran his event with a personal record of 15.99 seconds.

Silvas earned second in the 300 hurdles with a 43.90-second run, while a jump of 17-08 earned him third in the long jump.

The 3200-relay team powered to third place, finishing with a combined time of 9:00.09.

The team consisted of senior Josh Bischoff, juniors Mitchell Howell and Raydoffa Braziel, and freshman Derrick Phipps.

Freshman Tyler Csintyan placed fifth overall in the 400 dash with a time of 56.52 seconds.

He also took sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-08.

The Hornets will run at the Greater Flint Track & Field Showcase at Fenton on Friday, May 10.
