Peanut butter Kisses cookies make an effortless treat
Christmas is known for its tasty cookies and gingerbread houses, and this low-priced recipe makes it easy to get into the Christmas spirit.
To get into this spirit, my mother, Mrs. Jennifer Cowell, and I made peanut butter cookies with Hershey’s Kisses on top.
Ingredients: (Can be found at any grocery store)
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 1 bag of Hershey’s Kisses — I used about half of a package
- 2 tablespoons of regular sugar
First, grab any size cookie sheet and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Next, get a medium-sized bowl and pack one cup of brown sugar to the bottom of the bowl. Then combine one egg and one cup of peanut butter. Mix well.
It will be very thick and hard to stir, and that’s how you know you’re doing it right.
If it isn’t thick, add brown sugar until the consistency is right.
After you’ve mixed the contents, scoop two-inch balls onto the cookie sheet, making sure they’re two inches apart.
Grab a small bowl and put two tablespoons of regular sugar into it.
Next, grab a fork and dip it into the sugar — you may need to get the fork a little wet — and make a criss-cross pattern on the cookies to flatten them.
Once all of the cookies are flattened, place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 12 minutes.
Check them at around 10 minutes to be sure that they are not burning. When the cookies are done, they should be golden brown.
After you take your cookies out of the oven, let them cool.
If they’re too hot, the Hershey’s Kisses will melt.
Once your cookies are cooled, yet still warm, place one Hershey’s Kiss in the middle of the cookie. Repeat this process until all of the cookies have a Hershey’s Kiss on top.
This treat is very easy to make and takes about 35 minutes to complete.
