Girls basketball wins opener
On Friday, Dec. 7, the girls basketball team won its first game 41-36 at New Lothrop.
Top players of the game were senior Mackenzie Ramey, junior Sydney Walker, and sophomore Saniia Walker.
Senior Zaria Mitchner was injured during the second quarter. Mitchner suffered a sprained ankle.
Ramey feels that Mitchner’s injury helped encourage the team to push harder and win the game.
“When Zaria got hurt, it changed the way we played,” Ramey said. “We had to win for Zaria.”
